SPHERES

The spheres are dried for at least 3 weeks, then the cooking process takes place first in the oven (kiln) and then does the treatment of fire ... Called pit firing, using seaweed, wood and sticks, sawdust and natural materials such as salt. The materials that burn around the vase leave beautiful marks on the clay surface... The process is precious and unpredictable.
To simplify the work, she uses different clays, all with a high percentage of grog that makes them less plastic and favors them for the creation of large pieces.
She uses local clays, but in the case of my project, she focused more on white sandstone and a clay with a high manganese content (the black one).

On the occasion of "MA" exhibition Yoyo Balaguè was invited to physically reproduce three primary vibrations: The earth, the brain and the plants.

Three NFTs were created and were sent to Yoyo: listening each of them individually, three spheres are born from her fingertips.

PLANTS : Plants emit audio acoustic emissions between 10-240Hz. Evidence for plant mechano-sensory abilities are shown when roots are subjected to undirectional 220Hz sound and subsequently grow in the direction of the vibration source.
