WDSTCK
Exploring the balance between art and design, WDSTCK aim to bring emotional objects into everyday life. They cherish the temperament of each material and handcraft their objects to emphasise the narrative that nature has to offer. Based in Amsterdam, Wdstck offers a range of multidisciplinary objects with a straightforward aesthetic, each telling a personal story. The collectif is made of seven artists: Jesse Sanderson, Catie Newell & Wes McGee, Wim Verzantvoort, Miriam Knibbeler, Chiel Kuijl, Roland de Mul and Akko Goldenbeld.
Emphasise what nature has to offer
At the core of WDSTCK philosophy lies the belief that the objects we surround ourselves with should not only serve a functional purpose but also possess a soulful quality. They believe that the objects we use in our daily lives have the power to shape our experiences and impact our emotions on a profound level.
Through their exploration of the balance between art and design, they seek to create objects that bring a sense of depth and meaning to people's lives. Their approach to design is rooted in an appreciation for the natural world and a reverence for the unique character of each material they work with.
The collectif believes that by treasuring the temperament of each material and emphasising the narrative that nature has to offer, they can create objects that are not only beautiful but also emotionally resonant. They see their work as a form of storytelling, with each piece they create telling a unique and personal story.
Wdstck is committed to the idea that design can be more than just a superficial pursuit. By infusing their objects with a sense of soul and authenticity, they aim to create a deeper connection between people and the world around them.
