Here, as in the Vatican, the pineal gland is symbolized by a pine cone. Also known as or associated with the Third Eye, holistic practitioners believe that when the pineal gland is activated, it can lead to a heightened sense of intuition, clarity of thought, and increased awareness of one's surroundings. Surrounding the pine cone are images of sculptures titled "Tree Creatures," which Scarlett Rouge created in 2012. These sculptures no longer exist; they were placed in a garden for many years and eventually began to sprout mushrooms, eventually returning to dust and earth.
