MIKE SEYMOUR

Born in 1984, Mike Seymour’s work exists at the intersection of craft, architecture, and design. His experimental approach blends traditional and industrial processes, often involving direct collaboration with craftspeople and technicians. By working across metalworking, enameling, glass, and ceramics—combining materials in unconventional ways—Seymour allows the inherent qualities of each medium to shape his artistic language

Sfossils is an experimental studio that explores the social, historical, and cultural dimensions of craft through lighting, furniture, and functional objects. By developing objets d'art, the studio intertwines the act of creation with the narrative of use, highlighting the poetic relationship between form, function, and materiality.

Each series is a research-driven inquiry into craft movements, materiality, or object typologies, engaging in rigorous experimentation to capture the essence of making. The studio is committed to pushing the boundaries of craft through an intuitive and process-driven approach, resulting in objects that elevate everyday experiences.
