In 2007, he led the workshop "Body.Space.Area" in Mumbai with The Company Theater. This period of research with actors, dancers, and visual artists focused on the formulation of simple gestures, rhythms in movement, and the relationship to space, solidifying his approach to choreographic staging.
He then began exploring the relationship between body structures, space, and architecture. His projects "Silence" (Live Cinema) & "Improvised Urbanism" (Videodance), created in collaboration with Thierry Mabon, as well as "ARK" (Film & Photography) in partnership with Anne Charlotte Baranger, delve into these connections with rhythm and structure.
Each of his series offers a sociological foundation, a reflection on Humanity, Habitat, and Representation, which he translates into fictional images. Benjamin Juhel stages his characters, crafting his images with the freedom of surface painting and choreography in space.
The spectacle society, de-individualization, and the mechanization of human relations are core elements of his work. He conveys this worldview through a tribute to solitude, absence, and fragility.
